BODEGACOOLER sent me a 12 volt car refrigerator for review. All opinions are my own.
The BODEGACOOLER 45 Quart Portable Refrigerator is a versatile cooling solution designed for outdoor enthusiasts, travelers, and those seeking refrigeration options beyond traditional settings. This unit aims to bridge the gap between conventional coolers and refrigerators, offering unique features that cater to various needs.
One of the standout features is its compatibility with power tool batteries, specifically 20V Dewalt batteries. This feature, along with its ability to operate on 12V/24V DC and 110-240V AC power, provides users with flexible power options. The inclusion of two converters allows for extended runtime and wireless use, which could be particularly useful in remote locations or during power outages. It is important to know that batteries are not included.
The cooler’s design incorporates practical elements for outdoor use. Safety tie-fastening points on the sides allow for secure attachment in vehicles, addressing concerns about stability during your drive. The shock-proof design, capable of operating at a 45° inclination, suggests it can handle rough terrain, making it suitable for off-road adventures.
Temperature control is another key aspect of this unit. It boasts fast cooling capabilities, dropping from 68°F to 32°F in 15 minutes. The dual-zone feature with independent temperature control for each compartment (-4°F to 64°F range) offers versatility in food and beverage storage. The addition of app control via WiFi for temperature and mode adjustments adds a layer of convenience for tech-savvy users.
In terms of energy efficiency, the cooler includes multiple battery protection levels and an ECO mode for reduced power consumption. The manufacturer claims less than 1 kWh/day usage even in MAX mode, which could be beneficial for long-term use or in situations where power is limited.
Portability is another awesome aspect! With embedded handles, heavy-duty long handles, and wheels included in the design. It does weigh 46 pounds so as a short woman I find it a little heavy to move around by lifting it, but the wheels make it easy for me to push or pull to where I want it. It comes in two sizes so you can have some say in how much food storage space there is. I found this 46 quart size to be pretty generous. One side of the storage is a lot deeper than the other, so I personally expect to use the bigger size for fridge items and the smaller side for freezer items.
Modern Solutions For Making Tent Camping More Pleasant
It feels like in every family that loves camping, there’s at least one person who doesn’t enjoy “roughing it”. I’d argue that even among tent camping enthusiasts, there are aspects of camping that might occasionally bother them. If you’re looking for ways to make tent camping a little more comfortable for yourself or for that family member that doesn’t love camping as much, here are 5 tips and tricks!
- A fan. Getting too hot while camping, especially while sleeping, can be a huge drag. Some tent camping sites have electric outlets, so you can use an extension cord with a power strip to plug in a fan If your camp site has no power access at all, you can get a large portable power bank or electric generator, you can use fans or heaters to keep more comfortable.
- Bug traps. Camping while bugs are trying to eat you alive 24/7 can really bring people down. Of course, bug spray is key, but using electric bug traps, tiki torches, or other methods for reducing bugs in and around your campsite can make the experience more enjoyable for all.
- A portable mattress. Air mattresses can be comfortable, but everyone has had that experience of going to bed on an air mattress and waking up with it partially deflated. Portable mattresses are an awesome alternative because they can’t deflate. We like having our portable mattress on hand for people to use when sleeping over at our house, too!
- A tripod grill. Being limited to hot dogs and smores can get old really quickly, even for people who love those foods! Getting a tripod grill to go over your campfire will allow you to use pots and pans and to cook almost anything your heart desires!
- BODEGACOOLER’s Car Refrigerator. This refrigerator has two compartments that can be set to different temperatures, effectively using one as a refrigerator and the other as a freezer if you wish. This will allow you to bring any groceries that you want to use. Pack ice cream and Ice pops, milk, yogurt and other temperature-sensitive foods without fear. When your family is able to eat all of their favorites from home, they won’t feel like they’re having to sacrifice their favorite foods in order to camp.
